Data Protection Statement

This Data Protection Statement applies for the collection, processing and use of personal data on the websites “”, “”, “”, “” and “” as well as the “My JDownloader” service and the application “JDownloader”, hereinafter collectively: Platform, which is provided by AppWork GmbH, Schwabacherstraße 117, 90763 Fürth, hereinafter: AppWork.

A. Preface

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously and strictly adhere to the provisions of applicable data protection laws, particularly the Federal Data Protection Act and the German Telemedia Act. Personal data will only be collected by us as far as is required for technical reasons, to implement agreements or for the purposes of proper use of the Platform. It will be processed and used on AppWork's Internet servers. Data shall only be passed on to third parties as far as is required for technical reasons, to implement agreements or for the purposes of proper use of the Platform (for example, to our bank to process payment), as far as is later separately accounted for (for example, to Google for web analysis), or as far as is officially or legally ordered or otherwise legally provided for.

B. Consent

I consent to AppWork collecting, processing and using my usage-independent and usage-dependent personal data. Usage-independent are those data that I provided on registration, later deposited on my profile or have otherwise made known on the Platform (cf. C.). Usage-dependent are those data that AppWork requires either to provide or improve the Platform.

I can look at the content of this declaration at any point in time at the following address:

I can revoke the above consent from AppWork at any time with future effect, for example, by emailing

Access, rectification and deletion

You can request access to data saved on your person and its rectification and deletion with future effect from AppWork at any time, for example, by emailing, or by looking at, changing or deleting your profile.

C. Usage-independent data

Data that I provided on registration, later deposited on my profile or have otherwise made known on the Platform are collected, processed and used independent of use, for example, my civil name, my address, my telephone number, my date of birth, my email address, my username or, in encrypted form, my password.

D. Usage-dependent data

Data that AppWork requires either to provide or improve the Platform are collected, processed and used dependent on use, for example, information on the scope in which I use the Platform or, in an anonymised form, statistical information.

The Platform uses so-called cookies in several places. These are small text files that are saved by your Internet browser. Cookies serve to make websites more user friendly and safer. Most of the cookies used by us are so-called session cookies. With this type of cookies, we can ensure, for example, that only you can access your data, for example, your profile, after logging in. Session cookies are deleted automatically at the end of each visit to the Platform. Our cookies will not cause any damage to your computer, in particular, they do not contain viruses.

Usage data

AppWork collects, processes and uses data over and for accesses made from the Platform to the computer program “JDownloader”, hereinafter: Software. The collection, processing and use of these data is required to provide the Platform, and to be able to technically handle accesses on one hand, but on the other hand to facilitate accesses depending on the service package that has been booked. AppWork however saves only the type of access and not the content thereof; AppWork does in particular not save the files you use to download the Software. Data is transferred between the Platform and the Software in an encrypted format so that in principle neither AppWork nor third parties become aware of the content of an access.

Statistical data

AppWork collects, processes and uses statistical data to improve its Platform. AppWork saves these data only in an anonymised form, however.

AppWork uses Google Analytics in particular, a web analysis service of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (Google). Google Analytics also uses cookies to facilitate analysis of website usage. The information produced by cookies on your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and saved there. Your IP address will be shortened before being transferred to the USA, namely within the Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states of the agreement on the European Economic Area. The full IP address will be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there only in exceptional circumstances. Google will use this information on behalf of AppWork to analyse your use of the website, to create reports on website activities and to render other services associated with website usage and Internet usage for AppWork. The IP address transmitted from your browser within the scope of Google Analytics will not be added to other Google data. You can prevent cookies from being saved by changing your browser Software settings; we point out however that in this instance you would not be able to use all website features extensively. You can prevent Google's acquisition of the data relating to your usage of the website produced by the cookie (including your IP address) and Google's processing of these data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link:

E. Security

We take comprehensive technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access. We prevent security breaches that could facilitate misuse of user data by regularly testing and reviewing our hardware and Software. Only persons who require this in order to complete their tasks shall obtain access to your persona data, and only to the extent required.
